BioEYES Song (to the tune of "Lyin' Eyes by the Eagles)

Please excuse the bad singing. Apologies to the Eagles.

BioEYES

A zebrafish girl sports a swollen belly
Perhaps it’s from the eggs she has inside.
Throw in a boy
So she’s no longer lonely
And both of them they have no place to hide.

So they chased each other ‘round to get aquainted
She’s waiting to release the eggs she stores.
And while this tank is not the Ganges River
We’re confident nature will take it’s course.

Well the next day came with much anticipation
We took them from their lodging for the night.
And by our cross would we be rewarded
With some epiboly and maybe some somite.

Saw it all at BioEYES
Though it comes as no great surprise
The teachers there, they realize
Science comes alive through BioEYES

Now came time for embryo collection
Hoping we had fertile breeding fish.
Sifted out, adhering to the netting
Their new home would be a petri dish.

What we saw under the scopes was so amazing
The stages of each little embryo.
Look right there is that a fish heart beating?
Just one more look before it’s time to go.

Well the institute is over until next year
Anita will be coming to my school.
And with her she’ll be bringin’ a reminder,
Why teaching students science is so cool!

Learned it all at BioEYES
Though it comes as no great surprise.
The teachers there all realized.
Science comes alive through BioEYES
